We hope that everyone is getting through these tough times. It’s certainly been a rough ride the past few months with fires, floods and a global pandemic.
During this physical distancing period, it’s been really important that we stay connected and the MITIE forums and community have been invaluable in supporting that. Those important conversations and connections are still going on, and while we haven’t been able to hold term conferences, we are still all keeping in touch.
While restrictions are starting to be loosened by the various authorities, the committee feels we can’t yet start planning when we can get together again in person.
However, in lieu of being able to get together, we’re going to do something a little different, at least for MITIE.
On August 13th, we’re going to hold the first MITIE National E-Conference. We are busily putting the agenda together and look to cover some great topics that will appeal to the Teaching, Learning and the Technical amongst us. And it will be timed to cover all the time zones, not just the eastern coast.
We’ve got some fantastic partners (such as Microsoft, Amazon Web Services & Google) on board, and we’ve teamed up with Education Horizons Group (EHG) to help with the logistics and tap into their experience around online conferences. And best of all, we’ll be making it free to all members, and anyone else, to attend. All from the comfort of your office chair.
If you have something you want to hear about or wish to present something yourself, please let us know via this form 5. We may not be able to include it this time around, but we will keep it on file for when things get back to normal.
For now, ‘Save the Date!’ and we’ll send out an invite shortly for you to register your attendance.
